The Beginning of an Exciting Journey

Hello everyone,
I’m excited to share with you Got Done. This project has been a labor of love, born out of a personal need for a productivity tool that truly fits my workflow. None of the existing apps or Notion templates quite checked all my boxes, so I took the charge and decided to build my own solution.
The Idea Behind Got Done
Have you ever felt that the productivity tools available just don’t align with how you like to work? That’s exactly how I felt. I tried countless apps and templates, but they either had too many unnecessary features or lacked the essential ones I needed. I wanted something simple and intuitive app to help me focus on what I’ve accomplished each day.
This is where I took all of my custom Notion pages and converted them to a first sketch of a dedicated app. Building it was exciting for me, since I already dipped into Swift and SwiftUI before. From there I focused on building the basic app for my needs and iterated on it. With each iteration, I came closer to what I wanted and Version 1.2 is now the end of the MVP phase.
Developing the MVP (Minimum Viable Product) was a critical phase. It was about distilling the core features that would make Got Done useful right from the start. Version 1.0 was a humble beginning, but it laid the foundation for what’s to come.
Version 1.2: The End of the MVP Phase
Today, I’m proud to announce the release of Got Done Version 1.2! This update marks the end of the MVP phase, introducing many essential features that were previously missing. Here’s what’s new:
- Ordering of Habits and Backlog: You can now order your Habits and Backlog in the way you prefer.
- Last 7 Days Habit Progression Overview: Get a quick overview of your Habit Progression over the last 7 days.
- Notifications for Habits and Tasks: Get notified when a Habit is due or when a Task is due.
- Dynamic Create Task/Habit Button in the Tabbar: Quickly create a Task or Habit from the Tabbar.
- Task Notes can have Links that are clickable: Add Links to your Task Notes and they will be clickable.
- Soft Color Mode: A new Color Mode that is easier on the eyes.
This is Just the Beginning
While Version 1.2 brings Got Done out of the MVP stage, it’s only the start of an exciting journey. I’m already hard at work on new features and enhancements to fully realize my vision for Got Done.
Some upcoming features include:
- Focus on Habits: Enhancements to the Habit Tracking feature. A more detailed view of your Habit Progression with Min and Max targets.
- Widgets: Widgets for iOS to quickly see your Habits, Tasks and Progress.
- Custom Elements: Custom Tags for Tasks and Habits and a new way to filter them.
- Compact Mode: A more compact view of your Tasks.
- More Swipe Actions: More swipe actions for Tasks and Habits to quickly interact with them.
- Mark Tasks and Habits done from the Notification: Mark Tasks and Habits done directly from the Notification.
