Overview
This Privacy Policy applies to the Got Done iOS application, the Got Done marketing website, and messages sent to Got Done support. These surfaces handle information differently, so they are described separately below.
The short version
- No account is required to use the app.
- Your tasks and habits are stored locally on your device.
- Website analytics cannot access your app content.

Data in the app
Got Done is designed to keep your data on your device. You can use the app without creating an account or providing your name, email address, or other profile information.
Tasks, habits, notes, and history
Content you create in Got Done, including tasks, habits, notes, backlog items, completion history, and preferences, is stored on your device. Got Done does not use this content for advertising or website analytics.
Notifications and exports
Reminder settings are used to provide the notifications you choose. When you export data, the export is initiated by you and sent only to the destination you select through iOS.
Deleting the app or its local data may permanently remove content that you have not exported or otherwise backed up.
Website data
The marketing website uses an analytics service hosted on its own server to understand aggregate website usage and improve the site. Website analytics are separate from the Got Done app and cannot read the tasks, habits, or notes stored on your device.
When you visit the website, ordinary web requests and analytics may process technical information such as the page visited, referrer, browser and device type, approximate location derived from network information, and the date and time of the request. Hosting systems may also process IP addresses as necessary to deliver and secure the website.
Support messages
If you email support, Got Done receives the information you choose to send, such as your email address, message, device model, iOS version, screenshots, or steps to reproduce a problem. This information is used to respond to your request and improve the app.
Please avoid including sensitive personal information or private task content unless it is necessary to resolve your request.
Service providers
Got Done relies on a limited number of services to distribute the app, operate the website, measure website usage, and receive email. These may include:
- Apple for App Store distribution and related transactions.
- Website hosting and infrastructure providers.
- The website analytics service hosted on its own server.
- Email providers used to receive and answer support requests.
Those providers process information under their own terms and privacy policies. Apple’s policy is available on the Apple Privacy website.
Retention and security
App content remains on your device until you edit or delete it, or remove the app’s local data. Support correspondence is retained only as long as reasonably necessary to answer requests, maintain a useful support history, meet legal obligations, and protect the service. Website analytics and infrastructure logs are retained according to the applicable system settings and operational needs.
Reasonable technical and organizational measures are used to protect information. No method of electronic storage or transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to the processing of personal information, as well as the right to receive certain information in a portable format.
Because app content is stored locally, you normally control that content directly in the app or on your device. For website or support information, send a request to hi@gotdoneapp.com. You may also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
Children’s privacy
Got Done is not directed at children under the age required to consent to digital services in their jurisdiction. If you believe a child has sent personal information through support, contact us so the request can be reviewed and, where appropriate, deleted.
Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated when Got Done, the website, or relevant legal requirements change. The latest version will be posted on this page with a revised update date.
