Version 1.12 is here

Making Got Done clearer and easier to use

What changed in Got Done version 1.12, why I made those changes, and how I hope they improve everyday planning.

Version 1.12 is now available. This update is not about adding another layer to Got Done. It is about making the parts you use every day clearer, faster, and more dependable.

I focused on the small moments that repeat throughout the day: scanning your list, creating a task, adding context, changing a date, reordering your plan, and checking what happened before. Each change is small on its own. Together, I hope they make Got Done feel easier to understand and more comfortable to use.

Clearer cards at a glance

Task cards now have a clearer structure. Priority has moved to the second line, card borders are smoother, and drag handles take up less space. The handle also stays out of the way when an item cannot be reordered.

I made these changes because the Today view should be easy to read without asking you to study every card. The title remains the most important information, while priority and controls are still available when you need them.

I hope this makes it faster to see what matters, especially on days when your list is full.

One focused place to create and edit

Creating and editing tasks now use the same full-screen experience. Settings and details follow a more consistent layout, the title field becomes ready sooner, and a keyboard button makes it easier to finish editing.

The previous mix of sheets and separate views worked, but it could feel fragmented. It also left too little room when a task needed more than a title and a date.

The new editor gives each task or habit enough space without making quick capture feel heavy. I hope opening an item now feels like moving naturally into its details instead of entering a different part of the app.

More room for the thinking behind a task

The notes field now grows as you write. Markdown support is clearer, and links and checklists are easier to use inside a task.

A task often starts as a short reminder, then collects useful context: a link, a few decisions, a checklist, or the next step. That information should stay with the task instead of being scattered across other apps.

I hope the improved notes make Got Done useful for both quick reminders and the tasks that need a little more thought.

History when you need the context

Tasks now include a clearer history timeline. You can see when something was created and review previous changes when you need to understand how it reached its current state.

I added this because completed work and past decisions should not simply disappear. History can help you remember what changed without adding more information to the main card.

I hope it gives you useful context while keeping Today focused on what needs your attention now.

Faster actions with safer outcomes

Drag and drop has been reworked to make custom ordering feel more predictable. A long-press on a task now opens quick actions for common changes, including moving the task or adjusting its details.

Deleting from a quick action now asks for confirmation. Quick actions should save time, but they should not make an accidental destructive change easier.

I hope these refinements make it quicker to adjust your day while giving you more confidence that Got Done will do exactly what you expect.

Habits use the same clearer experience

The habit editor now follows the same design as the task editor, with a clearer layout for goals, reminders, and other settings. I also fixed the empty state so the Habits view provides a better starting point when no habits have been added yet.

The habit system itself has not changed. Minimum and ideal goals still leave room for real life. My goal with this update was to make that system easier to set up and understand.

What I hope version 1.12 improves

I hope this update makes everyday use feel a little lighter:

  • Your list is easier to scan.
  • Creating and editing feel like one continuous flow.
  • Notes can hold the context a task actually needs.
  • Reordering and quick actions feel faster and more reliable.
  • History is available without getting in the way of today.

Version 1.12 is a collection of practical improvements rather than a new productivity method. That is intentional. Got Done should help you manage your work without making the system itself another task.
